Who we are

Handled Finance, Inc. (“Handled,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates handledfinance.app. We are building a product that automates investing for people who want to start but haven't yet. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Waitlist signup: your first name and email address when you join the waitlist.
  • Calculator use: we do not collect or store any values you enter into our retirement calculator. All calculations happen in your browser.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, time spent, browser type, and device type, collected via standard web server logs and Google Firebase Analytics.
  • IP address: collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and abuse prevention. Not linked to your identity.
  • Cookies: we use session cookies to keep you logged in (when accounts are available). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use your information

  • To contact you when your waitlist spot is ready.
  • To send product updates you've opted into by joining the waitlist. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To understand how people use our site so we can improve it.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Where your data is stored

Waitlist signups are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. Our website is hosted on Vercel (also US-based). By using our site, you consent to your information being processed in the United States.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

When we launch the full product, we will also integrate Plaid (bank connection) and Alpaca (brokerage). This policy will be updated before those services go live, and you will be notified.

Data retention

We keep waitlist data until you ask us to delete it, or until we determine it is no longer needed. If you ask to be removed from the waitlist, we will delete your name and email within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@handledfinance.app. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To make a CCPA request, contact privacy@handledfinance.app.

Children's privacy

Handled is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our product evolves. We will post the updated policy here with a new “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will notify waitlist members by email.
